IHP

Note: Since January 1st, the public transport pricing has changed. There are now two kind of tickets:

  • “métro-train-RER” ticket (€2.50): valid for any travel on the rail network (regardless of the distance), i.e. metro, RER, and Tram T11, T12, T13, within a two-hour limit, and without leaving the network.

  • “bus-tram” ticket (€2): valid for any travel on the bus (excluding Roissybus and Orlybus) and tram networks (excluding Tram T11, T12, T13), regardless of the distance. Connections are allowed within a 90-minute limit.

Note that all tickets can be loaded on a smart phone or a Navigo Easy pass (€2), but different types of tickets (e.g. “métro-train-RER” ticket and “Paris Région <> Aéroports” ticket) cannot be loaded on the same medium at the same time. Therefore, to avoid extra fees, we recommand that you purchase and use one kind of tickets at once.

You can also purchase a Navigo Liberté + subscription, loaded on a personalised Navigo pass (with your given name, surname and photograph). It offers more attractive prices and you do not need to purchase your tickets in advance.

More information on the public transport company website (note that information have not been perfectly updated in the official website).

How to get to Paris?

By train

Paris is served by six train stations inside Paris:

  • Gare du Nord
  • Gare de l’Est
  • Gare de Lyon
  • Gare d’Austerlitz
  • Gare Montparnasse
  • Gare Saint-Lazare

You can also get to Paris from two other train stations located in the suburbs of Paris:

  • Gare Marne-la-Vallée Chessy
  • Gare Massy-Palaiseau

By plane

Paris is served by two airports: Roissy-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly (ORY). There are both located in the suburbs of Paris.

To access to Paris from Roissy-Charles de Gaulle or Orly airport by metro (line 14) or RER, you cannot use a regular Ticket, but a specific ticket, called Ticket Paris Région <> Aéroports. It costs €13 when loaded on a smart phone (you can also purchase a €2 Navigo Easy pass instead). It does not allow connexions with the bus or tram network.

Beauvais Airport is a small airport used by low-cost companies. It is far from Paris (90 minutes by bus); to get to Paris from this airport, you can take a bus (approx. €16.90 each way).
